What does “Going Green” mean?

Each home we build has the basics to qualify for Energy Star certification: 15% more energy-efficiency than a standard home, with the potential to be 20% - 30% more efficient.

The following items are built into every George Modular home:

• Sheathing is properly sealed to the framing
• Bottom plates of walls are sealed to the decking and top plates to the ceiling assembly, resulting in less unintentional heat loss
• Mechanical penetrations are sealed to aid in the retention of heating/cooling
• Additional ventilation fans are installed as needed to facilitate air exchange, controlling temperature and humidity while minimizing drafts
• Tub/showers on exterior walls are constructed with a continuous air and thermal barrier, reducing drafts
• To remove a possible source of drafts, fireplace chases are lined to maintain the thermal and air barrier
• Closed-cell foam insulation is utilized around all windows and exterior doors
• Airtight (AT) cans are utilized for all
• Ceiling and wall insulation levels are calculated to meet minimums per Energy Star requirements and climate zone specifications, increasing thermal efficiency.
• Low-E windows are installed to make your home more heat-efficient
